But while there’s less focus on the story, cutscenes are plagued with some truly terrible voice acting and dreadful dialogue. With its more upbeat story, The Crew 2 takes itself far less seriously and fully embraces its lunacy. It’s a more traditional structure and a welcome change in tone, even if it tries too hard to emulate Forza Horizon at times. Completing events and performing crowd-pleasing stunts rewards you with new followers, unlocking new disciplines and events to complete. Drawing parallels with the real world, your popularity and progress is dictated by the number of social media followers you accumulate. Every discipline is divided into one of four families: Street Racing, Off-Road, Freestyle, and Pro Racing.
